Elena Barberena
Elena Barberena is an immigration attorney with Cochran Immigration and handles cases nationwide. As a daughter of immigrants who fled to the United States seeking a better life, Ms. Barberena is dedicated to assisting immigrants in their immigration journeys. Ms. Barberena is fluent in English and Spanish and has years of immigration experience in removal defense, asylum, family-based adjustments of status, humanitarian applications, naturalization and other immigration matters. She effectively represents clients in almost every area of immigration law and is able to relate and empathize with clients' journeys.
Ms. Barberena has her B.A. in Political Science and received her J.D. at the George Washington Law School in Washington D.C. where she was a member of the International Law Review, the Moot Court and the Equal Justice Foundation. While studying at The George Washington University Law School in Washington D.C., she spent time working with Catholic Charities in their pro-bono immigration department and worked at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in their Enforcement Division and Office for International Affairs. Upon her graduation, she worked as a consulting attorney at Stratix Corporation and as a legal editor for LexisNexis before commencing her immigration practice.
